The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great option if you're seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't use LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do, to map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as the dirt compartment built into the charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning process at the touch of one button. You can choose an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that the entire home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vac performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will improve in the future with new models.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common however we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has superior filtration which blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating within your home. We like the statement but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map the interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that require more attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is superior - its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than the vibrating pads.

The only drawback is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's an acceptable price to pay if you want to get one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones create minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without distraction. If it encounters an object, such as a wall or furniture piece, it gently bumps into it and moves on.

The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background and washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is not right like a low clean water tank or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to the bin being full.

You can also design and merge actual rooms to alter how the Q Revo manages your home. This is a great feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different floor materials or if there's some clutter that needs to be removed frequently, such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can also clean up spills that are wet but I would suggest drying them with a cloth before sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean carpet and hard floors, and an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.

The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet in height and depth and weighs almost four pounds--the robot itself and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet on one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you're not at home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a set path.

The X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested, due to its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing a thorough job. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It is able to build detailed floor maps, identify different types of flooring and is among the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These features are great, but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's top robot vacuum more expensive than what homeowners want.

Created to look like a contemporary floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the vacuum cleaner and furniture as you move around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane which helps the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's one button that basically acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu in the center of the control panel allows you to choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will open the settings of the app which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to help you map out your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop efficiently, without getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4% of debris from our hardwood floor test and removing all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile, and carpet tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
